Wednesday morning you will meet up with your friends at our centre. Together you will design and deliver a community project. This might involve taking part in a dragons den type activity to share your ideas and pitch it to a local business or councilor for funding.

In the past NCS have organized fun days, bon fires, redecorated community Centre’s, gyms, parks and raised hundreds of pounds for charities in a variety of extremely creative and fun ways . You will also get the chance to gain a certificate in First aid and learn other essential life skills.

Once you’ve completed NCS

You will graduate!! You may be asked to help design and organise your graduation. You will leave with a certificate signed by the Prime Minister. Remember to include NCS in your personal statements, and you can also use NCS on any college or UCAS applications, plus on your CV and job applications.

The cost of the NCS and how to sign up

To send a young person on the NCS programme cost £1300 but this is paid by the government. All we ask for is a £20 contribution (normally (£50) which covers everything including transport, food, waterproof clothing and accommodation. (The contribution is none refundable should you cancel your place)

We also have bursaries available please speak to our NCS staff for more info.

Before we go

Once you’re signed up we will post up a welcome pack out with all the information your going to need. It will contain an invite to taster session we hold for you and your parents before the start of the programme.

The session gives you a chance to meet the staff and meet the rest of the people taking part in the programme. You will get all the final arrangements for the residential and choose who you would like to share a room with. It is also a chance for you or your parents to ask any questions so it is really important you attend the session.
